Geoffrey Settle
Many posters don't like to reveal who they are because it offers them freedom of expression, what's your reason?
Steve the Original
I am who i am and i stand by what i say. its as simple as that.. I know there may well be the odd poster who cant reveal themselve because of their work so i can understand that as for the others well maybe some have a reason but i guess most dont.. each to their own.. Gary
hhmmm - let me ponder on this one!
kateoflymm
I use my name in a slightly different form, it's one of my nicknames. I have a lot - some are unprintable. Anyway, it's less bother than giving my full title: Her Serene Highness the Honourable Duchess of Lymm.

Gary
Those who remain nameless probably don't vote fearing it may identify them!
Dizzy
I use an alias and I've not voted cos my reason for doing so is not there
Geoffrey Settle
Dissy would giving your reason be a clue as to who you are?
Dizzy
Only if you happen to know me
Eagle
Kate I have sussed you out, it was the 'slightly different form' that gave it away. You are Kate O'Flynn and I claim my ?5.

Damn! Foiled again! I'll have to owe it to you as I am a little financially embarrassed at present; upkeep of the castle and all that, you know how it is. observer
Kate, are you really Maureen O'Hara, who appeared in "the Quiet Man" with John Wayne and Victor McCleglan?!
kateoflymm
Kate, are you really Maureen O'Hara, who appeared in "the Quiet Man" with John Wayne and Victor McCleglan?! It's a flattering thought until you think how old she must be, if she's still alive. How d'you arrive at Maureen from Kate?

kateoflymm
Ah, yes. Sorry but I'm not Irish (sorry Eagle), only English in my ancestors as far back as the 17th century.

Geoffrey Settle
And what about 'Painter Geoff' and 'Spanish Geoff' from a Gaudi holiday in Barcelona, they came and went as did their paswords. They have passed away along with their extinct PC's and hard drives to the great WEB in the ether. RIP.
observer
Presume the tablets are controlling your multiple personality disorder then?!
Geoffrey Settle
Whatever your disorders are I'm not qualified to say or want to enter into schoolboy banter. However yours maybedown to years smoke inhalation of one sort or another. But then posting irrelevant comments like you do is why you remain an alias is it not? Keeping to the thread my alias changes have be down to hard disk errors, logging on when away from home and experimenting briefly with an obvious alias which as often as not used to contain 'geoff' so not really a disguise. Dizzy
my alias changes have be down to hard disk errors, logging on when away from home Geoff....I've never had to change my 'name' when I've changed my computer, logged on away from home, or even changed internet service provider and email address for that matter PS I used to like 'Painter Geoff' as I always thought you were a poor 'still to be found' local artist I used to feel sorry for you
Bill
I don?t think it matters what name anyone uses although there?s always a slight feeling of suspicion if that?s the right word as to why anyone would need to use an alias on a forum such as this. In any case, I?ve met pretty much most of the people who post here on a regular basis and I?ve never come across anyone where I?ve thought no wonder they use an alias. I very occasionally post here under an alias but for a very genuine reason. There are no prizes for guessing though, because I?m sure that most experience posters would have no difficulty in identifying someone by their style and manner even when the name doesn?t match.
