Boris the Buffoon -

Like a bull in a china shop,  Boris's cavalier approach to his job, will leave a trail of destruction, but who is there to clean it up ?    1.  The Covid debacle which will take time to report, before which Bo will be long gone.  2.  The N/ireland Protocol,  which has undermined the Act of Union and thrown N/Ireland under a bus; threatening the continued existence of a UNITED Kingdom.  3.  Failure of his Ministers -   Priti Patel to get a grip of illegal immigration  and failure to sack his Health Secretary for getting a grip of his advisor,  which arguably lost a by election and kept a useless Kier Starmer in his job, keeping the prospect of a woke Labour Party alive.    Unfortunately, Bo doesn't seem to have the attention span required to get a grip, even if we believe he takes the job seriously, but the biggest problem is who, amongst the throng of wannabe PM's, is capable of taking his place ?.   😠

But they didn't exactly do that Dave, there was dither and delay along the way , but I agree, there are/were no other politicians with the gravitas required to take command of the situation and impose their will on things - in other words, we didn't have a Churchill at the helm.   As for throwing N/Ireland under a bus, no one in Parliament spotted the fact that the N/I Protocol by virtue of it being an act of Parliament, countermanded the Act of Union, thus breaking up the UK.   Now, whether that can be salvaged by Frost, simply withdrawing from the Protocol or even withdrawing from the whole Brexit deal, and reverting to WTO rules, I don't know.       😠

Instead of having a pop at the present goverment  why not stick out your neck and back the bloody hard job they are doing.

Yes they make mistakes who in life doesn't ? but at least they are giving it a pretty good shot.

Priti Patel has put her head on the block again today in trying to stop these damned immigrants swamping the country with heaven knows how much virus and  unlawful activities they will bring with them once they sneak into the cities and get jobs.

So she has a go a stopping them'!

And waits for the brickbats and flack that she will undoubted receive

Today it 'was reported ..........

People smugglers to face life sentences under new border rules, but government warned plans could breach international law

The home secretary says the increased penalties are intended to act as a deterrent against refugees trying to come to the UK in small boats across the channel - but critics say the plans will reduce support for victims of human trafficking and genuine refugees.

A group of people thought to be migrants are brought in to Dover, Kent, onboard a lifeboat following a small boat incident in the Channel earlier on Sunday. Picture date: Sunday July 4, 2021.

So lets stops this easy paper sledging and slagging of them and just stick up for them and the job they have to do.

I'll continue to "slag them off", until they start coming up with solutions.   Locking them up in prisons merely drops us with a bill for their jail time.   Patel needs to remove the legal shackles that are stopping their deportation, namely the Human Rights Legislation and it's Courts.   The Home Office doesn't even know the exact number of illegal migrants circulating in our society, which is estimated to be over a million.   They didn't even know until recently how many EU citizens were here, they estimated around 3 million, but the actual figure is well over 5 million.   This impotence isn't just a UK problem, the EU is still allowing them in from Turkey, Libya and Morrocco.    😠

Maybe just maybe you have a few fair points but every person is allowed their opinions .

Mine is that I wouldn't have their jobs for a gold watch.!!!

And the wage they get doesn't go anywhere near to that of people who play soddin football for a living 🙄

Who contributes most to society ???

There are two convicted rapists in Prison, who are to be deported back to Pakistan at the end of their sentence.   They are now pursuing a human rights case (the right to a family life) to block their deportation;  seems they didn't consider their "family life" when they were grooming young girls in Rochdale.   And just to rub salt in the wound, they get their legal support free with legal aid, supplied by the British tax-payer.     😠

The fundemental problem Latch is, that Western Democracies are incapable of the necessary resolve to solve these problems.

And so with governments doing nothing the door is open for extreme right parties to fill the void.

History is full of prime examples to many to mention.

Well, the Yanks are now a prime example, from a deluded POTUS, they've gone to one that couldn't find his way to the toilet !     😄

I think Biden despite the obvious age difficulties is doing the job 100 times better than Trump.

And the US has regained respect on the international stage.

I think we all sleep a bit better since Biden took the reins

The MSM is making a good a job of hiding Biden's faults as they did of inventing Trump's 😉

Well, the US and NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan appears rapid to say the least,  almost on a par with Viet Nam;  with Bagram Airport being abandoned to pillage by the locals.   The Afghan Army are deserting in droves and retreating from the Taliban, so we can expect a mass migration in the near future,  as women and intellectuals seek more enlightened societies for a "better life".   And the cost of this attempt to transform a backward Country in our image,  amounts to over a £trillion, with over 3,000 US dead, and 500 UK dead -  perhaps we've learnt not to embark on these political adventures in the future ?

It always strikes me as dodgy horse to back with the Yanks , apart from the 2 world wars they get their asses spanked in most conflicts then move out & leave a power vacuum.

Anyway ,i thought Afghanistan was rich in lithium for the cars of the future ?

Looks like Boris's time is running out - aside from his soon to be blunder of "freedom day";   he's still left N/Ireland under a bus;   he's discovered that wealthy Tory areas won't accept levelling down, in order to fund levelling up. The sad thing is, no other politicians are worthy imo of taking his place.

Whilst, no doubt, Cummings may be on a revenge trip;  you only need a modicum of character judgement and understanding of events, to realise his allegations are right on the button.   BoJo is clearly a cavalier, flippant, and truth dodger;  but alas, the quality of his political opposition is so poor, that they are unable to call him out on it, and strike a blow.   It's clear to me, and will no doubt be sustained by the eventual covid Inquiry;   that Boris was in the Bolsonaro camp on the pandemic,  and was prepared to sacrifice even more at risk folk in preservation of the economic status quo.   So we suffered 18 months of dither and doubt, and a lagging behind the curve on killing the virus.   Now with total "freedom", they've realised that crowded internal spaces are vectors for the virus, so why did they open the nightclubs again ?   Now they are trying to claw back on this folly by requiring vax passports for nightclub entry, no doubt to encourage vax take up amongst the young. To be blunt, they are all over the place on this, and the mixed messaging just underlines their incompetance and lack of belief in defeating the virus.    😠      😷

It seems we are now going to pay France another £54 million to prevent illegal immigration into the UK . I am surprised the French government have not been hauled into court on H&S charges for allowing vulnerable people to set sail in flimsy craft, from their shores,  onto one of the world's most dangerous stretches  of water.
