Peter T
There was a power failure last night from 6.50ish to around 9pm on the Victoria Park estate off Knutsford Rd. Does anyone know what caused it? It's amazing at the reaction of people. There was a mass exodus of cars within the first 10 minutes. No TV, no PC, no phone. Reading by candlelight. A nice change, believe it or not. It reminded me of the 3 day week when the electricity was turned off on alternate nights. Just glad that we have gas. At least we managed to cook our meal. How do people manage who don't have gas?
GaryJ
We were affected on Wilderspool Causeway. No TV! I bet people had to talk to each other! :biggrinbounce: I liked it. Oh and then the wake up call at 1am with the house shaking! :spin: [ 27.02.2008, 08:53: Message edited by: GaryJ ]
Gary
Plunged into darkness at our offices briefly but then everything came back on. Noticed lights not working on Bridge Foot.
Mary
A dose of reality for some of us, when there is no electrics.

little fella
Chester road only had a brief flicker. It does sound like a sub station tripped out. Just think of the money you saved.

Peter T
Allegedly, 2000 houses were affected, but still don't know what the cause was.
