Lets stand up and be counted !!!!

Many a time I've gone to the England / GB games with high expectations - many a time they've been rammed back at us by those pesky convicts and like many fans I have been pessimistic about international RL for a number of reasons.

But sod it - I'm going on Saturday as I believe our young players need our support and I believe our sport needs us in numbers at Elland Road.

I don't believe we'll win in honesty but I can still hope. But I can see sense in making this all about the side we have now and for the future, make life as uncomfortable as possible for the Aussies as well to let them know they are in our back yard and we'll be on top of them for every second of the match.

We've got some special young kids out there right now and internationals should be the end all in their careers, lets gives player like Eastmond and Tompkins something to really look forward too, lets not them feel second rate when they watch the yawnion on TV played in front on 82,000 - lets raise so much hell that people will hear the crowd from John'o'Groats to Lands End, make it so loud the Aussies can't hear themselves, anything we do right go crazy, anything they do wrong jeer the crap out of them - if we go behind by one or two tries sod it, it's not unexpected - get even louder, go more crazy, jeer the Hell out of them as they will crack and our lads WILL feel 10 foot tall. We talk about the passion of the PNG crowds for example, there is no reason we cannot be the same, there are no excuses.

It's all about this weekend, we can accept life and that we'll probably lose or we can try for something special and for just once on many a year we'll have something to feel proud of. If you're going to watch on TV don't - get your tickets - if you had plans - cancel them, we always say there is something special about our breed of supporters, something special about our game, PROVE IT !!! let this message board be blank until and hour after the result. You can see it in the press already, the players need everyone and I daresay this sport does too.

If we make a game of it - if we raise the roof it will send the message back to the land of OZ that we're not ready to roll over for them just yet, we are not accepting of a result, we are ready to show the whole Rugby World (and Media) that we can do the business.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,

We shall fight on the seas and oceans,

We shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,

We shall fight on the beaches,

We shall fight on the landing grounds,

We shall fight in the fields and in the streets,

We shall fight in the hills;

We shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."

It would have helped if it had been the correct flag!

It should the the flag of St George and three Lions - not a Union Jack and British Bulldog!

Doesn't this event clash with the under 16's National Tiddleywink competition at Scunthorpe? :?:?

I fail to see the reason for posting totally pointless replies on forums,

it seems particularly endemic on certain sites and less on others.

unfortunately (with certain posters being obvious exceptions) this is one of the culprit forums.

So it's time to bid farewell,

I'm off to forums where people discuss the sport we love and not just post ermmm"witty" replies.......

Goodbye..................................

I have noticed that from time to time this forum receives an overspill from the *cliquey* pages on here. You know who I mean..the hang 'em and flog 'em brigade from other pages. EU haters...Labour haters...rheumy old Tories...Wogs begin at Calais types....You know who you are.

Old Latch was one of the more worthwhile posters on here but sadly he's been driven away. Think I'll join him.

Sorry to see you go - unfortunately there are a clique of posters on here - who all support the same football team (Man Utd) who enjoy driving the sensible posters to take various measures.

I mean I own this forum and unfortunately have to choose not to respond to certain trolls!

I hope to engage in some sensible rugby debate with Latchy and Safeway at a future date - but please direct me to a forum where there are no idiots or trolls - I don't think they exist? :?

Working on your theory it would suggest that the Poo fans forum would be a good place to start.:roll:
