Eagle
Middlesex Crusaders is changing its name next season to Middlesex Panthers after complaints from Muslims and Jews. The country falls ever further into the mire of appeasing ethnic gobbins.
JayC
Eagle, Why would it offend the Muslims or Jews wernt the crusades fought againts the Moors. But I do agree we are to PC in this country. John
Eagle
The Crusades were expeditions by European Kings sponsorred by various popes mainly against Muslims but if, as in the First Crusade, Jews got in the way they were dispatched along with the Muslims in Jerusalem. No doubt posters with a better take on such matters will expand on the above..............but hopefully not.

Lt Kije
Eagle not saying you are right about this, but I seem to remember you taking offense when being called a name in another place, I don't understand their offense to the name, but I think we should all understand that all people find the use of some words offensive
observer
Oh dear, well they need to learn to "get over it" and grow a thick skin. Seems free speach has been absolutely stifled in this PC dictatorship, just in case you "offend" some PC wimps. The latest one, is the banning of a Dutch film maker from entering the UK, with his allegedley "anti-Islamic" film, just in case, it upsets Muslims. Lt Kije
Who invited him in Observer and to which party does he belong to I feel you might be a little economical with all the facts on this one, I will leave it to you to give them out
observer
Apparently he's a right wing Dutch MP, and came into the UK last week with no bother, and hence no publicity. So he announces his plan to show his film (which is on U Tube anyway), and this wimpish Government ban him, thus ensuring that now everyone knows who he is and the ideas he's peddaling. Those who fear the arguements of others and seek to suppress them, have already lost the arguement.
Bazj
But I seem to remember we let the Chinese prime minister in for a state visit even though they have the worst human rights record in the world.... Double Standards of the highest order me thinks
Peter T
That was about money/trade.
Eagle
Lord Ahmed was going to mobilise 10,000 Muslims to protest, which idiot appointed this clown to the Lords?
asperity
Have any of our MPs actually watched Fitna, the 12 minutes long video which is at the centre of the controversy? If any of them did they would find that it isn't a rant against Muslims but rather it is a video showing rants by Muslims threatening violence and death to ANYBODY who isn't a Muslim. Our government has stopped Mr Wilders entering the country on the grounds that he is inciting violence against Muslims while at the same time steadfastly refusing to take any action at all in stopping radical Muslims coming into the country and inciting violence against (and in fact actually killing) British citizens. It really beggars belief that this country, which used to pride itself on it's freedom of speech, has allowed itself to be cowed by the threats of these extremists. Sad!!! Lt Kije
Who invited him in and to which party does he belong I think you would have found that non of the three main party's would have let him in, This is point scoring and headline steeling from a crap party, which so far Observer is reluctant to tell us, I wonder why
observer
"Who invited him in" Kyje - thought you knew, that in this great EU of yours, there is free movement - or supposed to be! Which Party is he - I've no idea, other than some extreme right wing Party - so what? Those who fear the ideas and arguements of others, and seek to suppress them; have lost the arguement before it begins.
Lt Kije
Those who fear the ideas and arguments of others, and seek to suppress them; have lost the argument before it begins. Absolute crap So I can take it from your answer that you would let muslim extremists in, who preach holy war, and those who agree with Adolf Hitter I am all far free speech but even you must realize there must be limits Ps I take it you have watched the film, what did you think
observer
Any and all political opinion should be able to access the public forum, that's what "free speech" is all about - you obviously don't agree with the freedom of speech. Had Mussolini or Hitler visited Britain prior to the war, in all likelyhood they would have been ridiculed, which is how "public opinion" deals with extreme arguements - so nothing to fear but fear itself! The seeds of ideas will only grow in fertile and receptive soil.
Lt Kije
So you would let anybody in irrespective of what they are saying, Yes or No
observer
Given that there are laws against personal deformation/libel for those that can afford to go to court; AND now laws against raceISM, faithISM etc - the answer is YES (until their visa expires!) Peter T
I was under the impression that this Gov. let anyone in anyway, legally or illegally. The only action that they take is against the easy ones, like the woman(illegal) who came over 4 yrs ago, has an autistic son born over here, but is being deported, regardless of the fact that the child is receiving medical care that he won't get if kicked out with his Mother. Yet any murdering thug only has to say that they would be in danger if exported and they are allowed to stay.
observer
She's out stayed her visa - and is thus now illegally here.
Paul Kennedy
As I recall back in the 80's there was a version of a Ford Cortina called a Crusader. PS Will the Daily Express be banned.
