Cook in the bag?

I've done a whole salmon a couple of times by putting it in a bag with lemon slices, lemon juice, herbs, bit of olive oil, etc. Double wrapping it in a second bag, then putting it in the dishwasher on a hot program. Poach/steams it lovely, and it's a far easier way to do a big fish than having to get a big enough fish kettle and taking up half the stove.

DISHWASHER???? Are you serious? If so, where did that idea come from?

On the Hairy Bikers Food Tour of Britain a large number of the prize winning chefs were using a technique of cooking in sealed bags which were then put into a hot water bath. I believe it's called "Sous Vide"

Apparently it's at a very controlled temperature, using specialist equipment - not actually boil in the bag as such.

Tried it with fish tonight, didn't really work, maybe it wasn't in the oven long enough?

For goodness sake Obs do you not read all the other posts

You should have done your fish in the dishwasher NOT the oven.

It's hardly rocket science <_<
