asperity Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 I've just found out the Second Engineer video'd this snippet on Thursday afternoon while we were between Cape Wrath and Stornoway.  Quote
Bill Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Blimey that’s a bit choppy. Don’t you ever get seasick or is it something you can get used to? Bill Quote
Dizzy Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Ooooh Puke !!! That must be horrible Asp !! I will never moan about being stuck in traffic on Warrington's roads again ! (Well not for a few weeks anyway) Quote
Bazj Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 I bet Leonardo wouldn't be pratting about making crosses on the front of that boat!! Quote
asperity Posted November 27, 2011 Author Report Posted November 27, 2011 It's not so bad when we're heading into the weather like that so long as everything is lashed down/stowed away properly (like I say, I slept through 3 hours of that on Thursday afternoon  ). When the weather's on the beam and we roll sleep is a problem. In fact life gets difficult! Quote
observer Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Must have been rough Asp; believe a ship's gone down in it, and HRH Wills, had to fly to the rescue. Quote
Dizzy Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 I just read that Obs. It was 20 miles off the LLeyn Peninsula in Wales and the report said 50 foot waves cracked it's hull. Tragic and only 2 of the 8 on board were rescued, they have since recovered one body and 5 are still missing. Tragic You be careful out there Asp Quote
algy Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Rather you than me Asp, great video clip though!. Quote
fugtifino Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 I slept through this! I could do that! Quote

Bazj Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Well his ship is still where he left it!! http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shipdetails.aspx?MMSI=236399000 Quote
asperity Posted November 29, 2011 Author Report Posted November 29, 2011 Sorry Baz, Marine Traffic tends to get behind the times. She left Stornoway on Sunday morning and got alongside at Loch Carnan sunday evening. She is still there waiting for a tide/weather/daylight window to sail back to Immingham. Information from Facebook! Quote
Bazj Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 It does actually say that the last "known" port was Stornoway but then a little further down it says: Voyage Related Info (Last Received) Draught: 4.5 m Destination: LOCH CARNAN ETA: 2011-11-27 16:30 Info Received: 2011-11-27 06:44 (2d, 2h 2min ago) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So it is correct I guess....just the way I read it was wrong!!
