observer
The "reverend" Rudd, the Australian PM has apologised to the Aborigines, and now to the thousands of "British" kids who were shipped over from cold and rainy England to the Ozzy sunshine - seems this "apology" will be repeated by Gordy Brown. So while we're in this "apologising" mood, what else in history should we apologise for?

demelzadoe
The "reverend" Rudd, the Australian PM has apologised to the thousands of "British" kids who were shipped over from cold and rainy England to the Ozzy sunshine - Sounds like you are suggesting that they came to a holiday camp. Most of these children were shipped out without their parents knowledge, told that their parents were either dead or that they no longer wanted them, and were then subjected to a life of abuse and cheap labour. Their personal stories should make your hair stand on end.
inky pete
Maybe we should apologise to the world for parlimentary democracy, the industrial revolution, modern medicine, and the defeat of several of the worlds worst ever dictators. observer
Never heard of the saying "water under the bridge" Damel? Saying "sorry" solves nothing; actually doing something to ensure the wrongs of history are not repeated can - we just have to move on. Dizzy
and... three rights (of the same distance) can also take you back to the crossroads where you have to make a decision .... where as four rights of the same distance take you back to where you origionally started from
Eagle
We should apologise for abolishing the death penalty, for inadequate punishments, early release and for knuckle rapping instead of ar$e whipping.
observer
Perhaps we should apologise for sending out convicts to Oz and stocking it with white folk and stealing it from the Aborignes - perhaps the same with America too?! Evil Sid
perhaps we should say sorry for "scrumping apples"
Paul Kennedy
Wasn't it a TV series starring Ronnie Corbett. PS Can I bank a "sorry" just in case I need it in the future. PPS In the Elton John song, he says that "sorry seems to be the hardest word........." , seems with so many sorrys going around, he was wrong.
