Observer II
Seems Boris is under pressure from some quarters to let up on the lockdown policy and return to the herd immunity gamble. After all, I guess sitting on your sofa all day, watching TV can bring as much stress as the war generation suffered under German bombing. So, let everyone out to spread and catch the virus and take the hit in deaths, the fact it would swamp the NHS and kill many of it's staff, is of no concern to these idiots. 😷
Evil Sid
it could be made harder for them idiots by enforcing a lockdown. Any body out on the street is instantly quarantined for three weeks. I was reading something about one country who have just such strict measures. You can only go out once a day at the time specified by the local authorities. You must inform them when you intend to go out, where you are going and why. They send you a text message on your phone to let you know when it is nearing the time and track your phone to make sure you do not deviate from the assigned routine. You must also carry your phone with you, that way if you are stopped you can show the text message. You must also carry proof of identity. After 7pm there is an all out curfew. Any body out after that will be arrested and quarantined.
Observer II
Talking of tracking phones - seems the Chinese and S/Koreans are using a phone app, which can track your movements, including all those you came in contact with; which, in the event of symptoms, allows them to trace the spread and warn others. It also shows a green screen for those who are clear of the virus. It works, but no doubt in the West it will be called out for being an attack on privacy and human rights. 😷
Bill
Ey and that's why the British spokesperson said "The Chinese could learn a lot from us" Seventeen times more population than the UK and yet got through the outbreak with only just over three thousand deaths, they really could lean from us! asperity
That's if you can believe a word that the CCP come out with. Let's be honest, they've been lying about this pandemic since at least November last year.
Observer II
Think your right Asp: it clearly started earlier and to save embarrassment to the Party they've hidden the real death rate. Still operating the so-called "wet markets" too. 😷
