Cleopatra
One would think that with all the rain and snow you have had the grass would be very wet and extremely difficult to set fire to yet the firefighters have been kep busy putting out grass fires across the town recently. Eh what?
Evil Sid
I suppose it depends on what variety of "grass" it is
Nick Tessla
Spontaneous grass fires are a particular concern to people at Hawaiian themed parties
Dizzy
Sounds rather painfull Nick. A cheap and effective way of keeping all yer bits and bobs from freezing though Cleo... I suspect the grass fires are more to do with last years longer growth which is now brown, dead and very dry and brittle. That's certainly the case along the canal banks and more open/overgrown areas near me anyway Now you've mentioned it though, I can't actually remember any real rain fall around here for a while. Other than the odd snowfall (we didn't get much in Warrington this time) it's just been cold and dry.

Rockcutting
There were one or two very insignificant grass fires in Warrington. Nothing at all to worry about and the Cheshire Fire service were very quick on scene. Why does Renault Clio think there was ever going to be as much of a conflagration as I am sure he must see every day in Egypt?
