Wingnut
I could never understand why Ruperts mate was called Pong Ping, it just didn't make any sense. So I decided not to like him. I did have a rhyme about him though: Ding Dong, Ding Dong God save King Kong. Dong Ding Dong Ding God save Pong Ping. I'll bet yer didn't expect that did ya? Best ever for me!, couldn't afford it every week as it was too expensive - threepence (3d). used to swap 'Yankee' comics for them.
Evil Sid
Alway looked forward to getting my hands on the new GILES annual. Spent many an hour chuckling over the drawings as I would invariably find something funny in them that I had missed previously. Alas when i got married I left my collection at my Mum and Dads house until I could finds room to store them. When I went back for them some months later I found that my brother had donated them to a church fete or something. Just thinking about them brings a smile to my face, the image of Grandma swims into view. All dressed in black with so many layers of clothing that she looked both bullet proof and water proof. A square jawed face bearing a passing resemblence to Malcolm Muggeridge, Hat skewered to her head with hatpins and the dreaded black brolly with the stylised duck head on it, more feared than any ninja and twice as deadly. Now that brings back memories as does Evils Giles.
