safeway56 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 In view of the colour clash with Leeds why not make it a one-off occasion to revive the old shirt which the Likes of Bev and Jimmy Challinor and the rest used to wear in the 60's. I could envisage the club selling a fair few thousand of these. like this.... http://www.rugbyrelics.com/images/Postcards/F9/097.jpg Quote
Latchford Wolvesfan Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 No thanks were not made of money. Wembley ticket ?26 (?21 cheapest), Wembley travel ?25 cheapest, food and drink in London is an arm and a leg and you suggest we bring out another shirt probably costing ?40-?50 dependant on size.... Your having a laugh Quote
Teessidewire Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 My all time favourite Warrington shirt. I see that you bought the stamps too, Safeway. Quote
safeway56 Posted August 9, 2010 Author Report Posted August 9, 2010 Purchasing the shirt isn't compulsory...I, for instance won't be. After over half a century of supporting the mighty Wire I've never worn any colours...shirt....tie...scarf....nowt at all. I used to ring a bell...but it cost me nowt. Quote
Teessidewire Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Over half a century eh, how much over half a century? I thought I was doing well at 44 years on the Wire Roller Coaster. Quote

Agamemnon1 Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 It was 1959 when i played on Wilderspool for Woolston Primary School's Rugby team. I first watched Warrington when they played away to Widnes in 1958. My uncle Tommy played loose forward for Widnes in that game. I cant remember the result . Quote

Gary Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 First match watching the Wire was against Hull in 1978 and a few weeks/months later witnessed us beat the touring Aussies - that ensured I was hooked for life! Quote

Sheila_P Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Our paths may not have crossed then. I was a Gussie's girl. I did wait for a coach every morning near the Latchford Methodist, when I was at senior school. I grew up in Mort Avenue. I knew the Warburton's from the corner house on Grammar School Road. My first match was Brian Bevan's last for Warrington. Quote
