observer
Seems the MPs are claiming a £3million tax loss, due to foreign cars not being taxed in the UK. But while we're at it, how many drive without insurance or MOT nowadays, and how many are driving without a bona fide licence? Where does this leave you in an accident claim? Bazj
I don't like to mention that one Dizzy.... the tax on that more than makes up for the free tax on the Corsair and the £30 a year for the wifes Mini!!
Davy51
You would think it would be easier to spot a dodgy car than an illegal immigrant ,after all if you get pulled over by the police they know all about you before you get out of your car . It is the registrations that don't flag up on the PNC that police should be targeting as possible "not legal on road " .
observer
Wouldn't a left hand drive vehicle with a foreign number plate be a give away for a police check, or would this be classed as "profiling" and contrary to their human rights ? inky pete
A quick wander round certain employers car parks coupled with a request for information on how long the owners have been employed would find the majority of the culprits! Evil Sid
My brother drives a left hand drive vehicle it is an american day van and it is "taxed" mot'ed and insured quite a lot of left hand drive cars were imported into britain and are driven legally so that would not work very well. given that number plate recognition is now the option of choice for checking tax, mot and insurance then a few extra cameras dotted around should do the trick.
