safeway60 Posted October 18, 2012 Report Share Posted October 18, 2012 Unlike the know-nowts on another forum I never for one minute thought Tony Smith would leave Wire, not for a good few years anyway..That lot were even picking out which Oz club he may coach...He's never had a coaching job in Oz...he's a UK citizen and though I know nothing of his family life, hasn't he got a couple of children ? If so they must be more or less Brits and Oz would be a strange land to them. Only when they are old enough to live independently could I envisage Mr Smith returning to Oz...A move to an English club would be a step down and why would he do that? Of course having had the luxury of living above a chip shop in Workington, a nice detached house in Appleton must be something of a comedown. SMITHS A POM !!
