Paul Kennedy
The following from today's Daily Telegraph: "Magdi Elgizouli, 40, killed 25-year-old policewoman Nina Mackay in 1997 and was locked up indefinitely under the Mental Health Act. Elgizouli, who is said to have a deranged hatred of the police is being allowed four hours a week supervised release to help him integrate with society. Psychiatrists claim Elgizouli has responded well to treatment. He is currently a patient at a secure unit in St Bernard's Hospital in Southall, west London. But an urgent message has been issued under Scotland Yard's officer alert system warning personnel to keep away from the killer. WPC Mackay was stabbed to death by Elgizouli as she went to arrest him in his east London flat 11 years ago. At the time he was in breach of bail for assaulting a police officer and possessing an offensive weapon. Elgizouli admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. " I despair at times, I really do.
Eagle
Substitute 'overpaid wassock' for ' psychiatrist' and it would sound more correct. I bet his yuman rites leech is in there somewhere.
Evil Sid
But an urgent message has been issued under Scotland Yard's officer alert system warning personnel to keep away from the killer. if that is the case what happens if he commits a different crime. how do they arrest him??? also wonder how many new offenders will pick up on this, could be an open season in that case. commit crime and not get arrested as the police have been told to keep away from you

Legion
I hate this diminished responsability bull. the fact is anyone who ever intentionaly kills could claim that, because the act of killing means that they are somewhat at a diffrent mental disposition to somone who might otherwise rationalise against it. and if they didnt intend to kill then thats the lesser manslaughter anyway. its rediculouse liberal claptrap
