observer
Abu Qatada (Bin Laden's alleged luitenant in the UK, and possibly Gordon Brown's twin brother with a beard!); has been released from prison following a Lords ruling on his deportation case. Abu will now be placed under virtual house arrest, no doubt at a cost to taxpayers; because although suspected of being a terrorist he's not been charged with an offence in the UK. However as a JORDANIAN citizen, he is believed to have been tried in his absence for offences in his OWN Country. Well I hear your say; simple, just fly him home. Nah; because our friend and ally - Jordan; is believed to engage in torture, Abu's "human rights" would be infringed. Alas, this doesn't seem to bother the Yanks, who have kidnapped "suspects" by extrordinary rendition, for the express purpose of taking them to a torture state - funny old world. wahl
time to scrap eu human rights legislation and replace with one for British citizens that gives rights to British citizens and not everyone. Criminals lose rights and so do terrorists then deport them with the Home office officials and the judiciary

Paul Kennedy
You have to laugh though, one of the conditions of his bail was that he couldn't meet with Osama Bin Laden....actually they should be encouraging him to...so that Mr Bush's wish before he leaves office could be granted. What will they and their little Lib Dem mates think of you if you advocate getting rid of the European charter for criminals and shirkers (AKA Human Rights Act)? And I do disagree with the deportation of terrorists; unless of course you meant repatriate their dead bodies??
observer
Asp; take a good look at Abu next time he's on telly; he's a double of Gordon, but with the beard! As for Bin Laden, I'm betting he's working in a take away in Bewsey!
