Finally iSpoof scam site closed down!

Headline news last night claimed to be the biggest hit ever on the scam industry as police raided and closed down the iSpoof website that had been openly supplying the tools of the trade for scammers. Great stuff but why the heck has it taken so long to do this?  The police had known about this site for at least two years during which time people were being scammed out of millions each week.

This sort of thing isn’t new. Years back there was a company running a scam with a registered address here in Warrington with a postcode almost identical to that of my office. Again, it took over two years for the police to bring him to justice because despite it being a blatant scam, legally he simply running a business and not breaking any laws. The law urgently needs changing as does the attitude of the police. They seem content that as technically no laws have been broken, the responsibility lies wholly with the public.

In closing down this supplier, I’d have thought it should now be possible to trace the all the sixty thousand scammers who used his services but no mention of this was made in the report.
