observer
Seems Mr Speaker has allegedly been caught with his hand in the till - and he's in charge of looking into MPs allowances and expenses: strange the Police don't harass these folk; like they do socialists in Glasgow ?! Bazj
Well if what I have read and heard today is true.... he is a crook and should be charged. Apparently and allegedly claiming expenses and allowances for a house he owns outright! hmmmm I see a resignation on the cards!

Bazj
Well if that's the case.... no wonder our bloody taxes keep going up and up. Typical bloody trough snuffling politician!
observer
The guy in the white suit summed it up: they claim their maximum entitlements, rather than the actual costs. Answer, take the "entitlements" off them and subject them to independent audit and scrutiny. If they were in any other job, they'd be sacked. Paul Kennedy
...and most likely in court as well. Seems the European lot are even worse. As I posted recently on a political bloggers site, I am available to conduct an audit and scrutiny.....and I'm ruthless...as I was in my former business days

observer
Yes Paul; but these are the legislators that sanction incarceration for non-payment of rates; threaten the sick, lame and lazy with loss of their pitance in benefits. observer
Seems Speaker Martin is now under investigation in respect of allegations that his wife has been hiring taxis at taxpayer's expense (?4,000), to go on shopping trips, and funding dinner parties for friends. little fella
The system is set up to be abused. If the Government of the country was honest we would not have a problem but seeing as they are all bend buggers and know that they can get away with it what else can you expect. Just think how much lower our tax bill would be if we did not have to feed these thieving devils habits. And they have the Gaul to complain about people claiming meagre benefits. Bring back trial by public. AND madam Guillotine

Don't they always bang on about how they give such value for money and we should worry about other things in life instead? I would jail the lot of them especially now the latest round of disclosures have been revealed... Brown and Bliar claiming for TV licenses and Fat B*****d Prescott claiming for food and Cameron claiming ?21,000 of MY BLOODY MONEY so he can have a nice little nest egg property for when he retires?? They should all be stoned to death if you ask me To think we went to war with saddam because he was seen as a corrupt dictator with no respect for his fellow citizens and here we are with all aspects of the political system which is so-called "accountable"; ripping us off for everything they can get their grubby little trotters onto# Makes me bloody sick, no wonder yopu political types don't dare knock on doors anymore mate
observer
As long as politicians have the freedom to decide on their own pay and conditions; you will have examples of avarice; they do it simply because they can.
