wolfie
It's the share holders, employees and customers (that's you and me) who pay the tax. I would suggest that they have already paid the tax, but it aint found its way back to the tax man.

Davy51
It is little wonder that our rule bending, tax dodging MPs with their mind numbing excuses are highly sought after to join company boards of directors.
asperity
A view from "over the pond": Washington Post Like I keep saying, the answer is not more taxes but for governments to stop wasting the taxes they already steal from us!!
observer
It's always been the case, that capitalism is international; thus corporations will seek out those countries where they can maximise profit, by minimising costs. We could always join this race to the bottom, in terms of pay and conditions, and tax requirements; and join the third world.
Cleopatra
Might be a step forward if you did join the third world.

Evil Sid
The latest contender is the Ritz which has paid zero tax in the last 17 years. Other companies owned by the Barclay twins have also managed to get money back on VAT, Littlewoods being one that has managed to get back £450 million in back vat. The company that manages the twins holdings is also putting a test case through the courts to claim back about £1 bn in accrued interest on the money they are "owed". If successful this government could be in for a flood of similar claims. Seems Nero was an amateur when it came to fiddling
