asperity
Thesed machines kill thousands of birds annually. This is on top of the fact that they are expensive, unreliable and a con.
algy
No idea what it has to do with the environment So you don't understand that having 10 - 18 ton of PMC blades being hurled uncontrollably into the atmosphere including the column and gearbox crashing to earth can alter the structure of the local environment not to say that of the local flora and fauna and the chance of injury/loss of life to humans? observer
Seems there is a Town in Italy that is solely powered by these wind farms. In fact, they produce enough to sell their excess to the grid. This allows them to light their streets etc and maintain a very low local tax base. Maybe lots of dead birds about though! algy
Nothing new there with the Itie's then
Bill
The wind farm might be capable of generating enough power to power the town but it can't be totally powered by it unless they have magical constant winds. Just look at what we have just now, absolutly no wind and freezing temperatures so the wind farms do nothing for us and grid is probably at breaking point.
