Criminal Assault ?

Apparently, assaulting a Policeman is a criminal offence; but not so in the case of other public servants. An E-Petition has now reached Parliament, calling for such legal protection for NHS Staff; but why stop there. ?   It seems to me that any assault on any public servant carrying out their lawfull duties, should be a criminal offence with a mandatory prison sentence.

Here's another one: seems a man has been sentenced to 5years for failing to rescue a girl who was drowning in the sea. He was charged with murder; but pleaded manslaughter by neglect. Obviously we don't know the details but, there would be some questions: 1) was it a risk to his personal safety to attempt rescue, could he even swim? 2) if the incident was witnessed by others, what were they doing in terms of rescue ? Strange !

Wasn't there a story a few years ago where two cops didn't go and save someone who was drowning because they feared for their own safety?

Guess there must be a difference, otherwise over 100,000 folk have wasted their time signing an e-petition.

I see it was started by Nick Ferrari on a radio show, which would explain all the signatures. Some people will sign anything if a "personality" tells them to.

Quite true, surprised that the scammers haven't cottoned onto this phenomenon YET.

Assault carrying a mandatory prison sentence. Prisons overcrowded as it is, so much so that even with the lamest of sob stories you can get a suspended sentence, you even read of offenders who have theirs extended when they have committed an offence whilst serving a suspended sentence. (he/she has had difficulties in the past but is getting his/her life back on track being the usual reason stated)

You have to commit a serious crime to get sent to prison these days, like council tax evasion or the like.

There was Baz & what was more startling was that the water in the pond was no deeper than 3 feet even in the middle.

The way the violence in jails was being reported yesterday, some talking head came out & said too many people were being sent to jail.

What i find confusing is that the not very old Warrington Crown Court may possibly close due to its workload being shared between Liverpool & Chester....on the other hand, only a few days ago ,a top policeman was bemoaning the increase in crime. Now you would expect our court system to be working overtime to deal with these villains if there was the means to catch them & lock them away safely. More police & more safe  & secure prisons are what this country needs & give the streets back to law abiding citizens.

Think a lot depends on the pizza here dizz.

if it was a whole pizza with a stuffed crust, then when hurled frisbee like, it could do some serious damage with the hot filling or even the risk of suffocation if the pizza strikes and then flops over the face .

Similarly if it was a thin crust one used the same way then possible lacerations due to the thinness at the edge may occur.

A segment of either would not cause as much harm unless the pointed part struck an eye, although a hard thin crust could conceivably used as a dagger.

Be an interesting bit of scientific research for somebody that. Study of the pizza as a weapon, Pappa John's or Dominos, flight characteristics compared etc.

Still puts a whole new slant on pizza delivery.

OMG I'm sat here crying laughing after reading both your posts Evils and Davy, so funny

I'm also tempted to cook the pizza that's in my freezer and hurl it at Mr Dizzy just to test out what injury one could cause.....or perhaps I'll just leave it frozen and try that
