Cleopatra
Just wondering. Are either of you related to the Bennet who was a teacher/headmaster? Can't recall his first name.

Tracey Bennett
Could I get the web site address you use to get to.the census Tracy pleaseCheers I use both Ancestry and Find my Past at the moment. FMP is good because it also has the Cheshire Parish Records and as my family are firmly rooted in north Cheshire it's very helpful. If you have Tesco vouchers you can use them to get a copy of Family Tree Maker (the software Ancestry sell) and that gives you 6 months free on Ancestry. Â Cleo - I haven't come across any teachers yet, which school?
Cleopatra
Hamilton Street Junior. It's not there now - and neither is Hamilton Street - It's Saint Peter's Park now.
Jean
Thanks, Tracey (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) this has been a great help for me as newbie in this game.
Tracey Bennett
I've just noticed you're in Canada so the Tesco vouchers probably aren't an option! I think Ancestry usually have a free trial offer running. Find my Past also has a pay as you go option, I tried that first to see what was there and then paid up for a year when I realised they had all the Cheshire stuff. Either way it's worth having a look at them before signing up if you can, their search algorithms are quite different and you may find one easier to use than the other.
