observer
Seems snails contain 90% protein, compared with 70% in a joint of lamb. It takes 45 times more land to produce 1kilo of lamb protein, as against 1kilo of snail protein. Not quite solent green yet, but it could help the Africans. Peter T
Can't say that I have seen the French looking any better than the rest of us. Mind you, BB wasn't bad to look at, but I don't think she was eating many snails.
observer
Perhaps an opportunity to "feed the world" - maybe Bob Geldoff will start up snail farming?!

Evil Sid
What is the difference between snails and say winkles or whelks. apart from the obvious one of the latter two being marine creatures that is. All could be said to be snails.
