observer
A way to future cures or obscene tampering with nature?
Paul Kennedy
Alas, if what is being proposed becomes law, it will end up being abused as rouge scientists push the boundaries....remember Pandora's Box. I also happen to believe MPs should have a free vote on this Bill.
Mary
As always we will see wonderful things and terrible things - with the new invention of anything new it is the same.
observer
Apparently, with all the worry over kids with horses heads etc taking up the headlines: hidden in the small print of this bill, is permission to allow Lesbian couples to access IVF. little fella
Maybe the bill is to also help lesbians be proper people as well? I dont know why they have to hide it? We had all the trouble about gene changed crops when we were all going to mutate in, something elce !!! There is scope for this work to push the boundries of nature to a greater human understanding. Maybe they will find a cure for all the dreadful ailments of the human race Alzheimer?s , Cancers even Gays could be cured. I expect that whatever we do the scientists will always want to go that step further. Do we have it in this country where it is open and controlled or in the 3rd world where anything goes. Do we not already experiment on humans in this country?
observer
Wasn't aware that being gay was somekind of disease, but allowing them to artificially procreate possibly is?!

wolfie
The question of - 'is a gay relationship ?normal?'. the answer to that is clearly no - it is not normal. It is in fact abnormal. For those who were ?born gay? - it?s a physical birth defect, equivalent to a hormone imbalance. So in that respect they are different. observer
The point is: as a taxpayer, I don't want to be subsidising artificial NHS treatment to give them something they can't have by natural means; same goes for cosmetic surgery, 60 year old mothers etc etc; if they WANT that, they can pay private.
