It was indeed nominally 4 minutes but it might have ended up being less. It involved manual processes to set off the warning I gather. The whole system stopped operating in 1992.

I think it might be a good idea to remove this thread as it’s served its purpose and leaving such a worrying headline on display might put people off. At the very least Observer could simply edit the title to something less scary, like Historic Problem.
