Seems they're wheeling out every cannon in their armoury to scare the British electorate into remaining in the EU; the latest being a clear threat from the French to stop UK border checks at Calais, thus threatening us with an influx of migrants. An influx of migrants btw; that the EU have allowed to enter the EU and wonder all the way through the EU, en route to the UK. So the EU has demonstrably failed to stop this invasion, so membership doesn't safeguard us at all.

Of course it won't stop them being part of the EU.... The EU has shown itself to be utterly inept at anything to do with immigration and the Schengen agreement just buggers it up even more.

The Eastern European countries are falling over themselves to lock the borders because they only joined the EU to get money out of it, not having to spend money; that is as clear as day now with everything happening on that side. Germany is run by a complete fool who thinks she can atone for her forebears killing 6 million jews by letting 6 million immigrants rock up on their borders.... Talking to Germans I know they are all aghast at what she has done

I just don't see how a country like ours that has been the inventors of everything useful that has ever been invented, that has been the biggest trading nation for hundreds of years, that has bailed out the rest of Europe twice in wars in the last 100 years and has managed to rule 3/4 of the land mass of the world couldn't survive without being in an alliance with Romania, Croatia, Slovakia and Portugal

I also don't believe that the likes of BMW, Siemens, Mercedes, Peugeot etc. would stop trading with possibly their biggest customers outside the US and wouldn't lobby their own governments to keep any tarriff down so that i doesn't affect their profits. We are all told so often how much big business runs governments and I personally don't think the massive companies in Europe would stand by and let their governments inflict such trade restrictions on them. We are not Denmark, We are not Iceland.... we are the 5th largest economy in the world and as such spend an awful lot of cash with other EU nations.... but also remember that the Australian make cars as do the Americans. The Canadians make trains not just the Germans... we can make deals, we have made deals for hundreds of years... it is just the EU and the Westminster parasites that tell us we can't do anything for ourselves anymore.

Just Google Great Britain and see how much of a world power we still are.... don't let these self-serving Westminster pigs do us down so they can carry on their gravy train lifestyles....

just think of the savings as well.

no more meps and their hangers on to pay expenses for, no having to put ,money into the bailing out of member countries,no having to pay for moving the headquarters every six months. probably a lot more as well. 8)

If we do ,hopefully, leave the EU it is the EU that will suffer the greatest loss. Our borders stood between 1939/45 when the rest of Europe capitulated & we had to go & liberate them with American assistance. Many of these countries have only wanted us on their terms & for the hand outs we could provide.

Exactly the point. Most of the Eastern European countries saw an opportunity to fund the redevelopment of their countries infrastructure after the fall of their communist leaders by joining the EU and getting the likes of France, Germany and the UK to pay for it all. There are 11 net contributors to the EU, Germany being the highest and the UK the 2nd highest.Holland even puts more in than France does, which surprised me!

Luxembourg and Finland only just scrape through as net contributors. In 2007, Germany on its own paid in more than the lowest 19 countries combined although if it wasn't for the UK's rebate, we would have paid in even more than Germany

So as the EU has expanded you get issues such as that faced by Ireland. When Ireland joined, it was one of the poorest nations and so attracted lots of |EU cash and investment....once the Eastern countries bailed into the mix, Ireland suddenly became a rich country by comparison and a lot of their aid ceased in favour of the newer poorer countries.

Now the poorer countries are on the front line of the migration crisis, they are having to pay to keep their borders secure and are demanding more money than ever from the rest and are still making a hash of it

... and because the 11 net contributors are outnumbered by the 16 net spongers; the idea (put about by some), that we can "influence" anything, by staying in the EU, is a total joke. The idea also, that we get EU "funding" for anything is a myth; it's our money in the first place being recycled, less a bung to the EU paupers and the Brussels beaurocracy.
