I wonder how the government expect people who have been unemployed for a while to be in a position to take up any of the "jobs" on offer. No financial help is offered to take up employment in terms of travel to work cost, special clothing etc. The first thing many people have had to give up is their car so are at a disadvantage straight away & many of the older age group are not computer savvy.

The report in the Independent that I posted a link to doesn't claim that a million people used Trussell food banks, it states that the food banks were used over a million times.  Seems the Murdoch king making machine is in full swing for the election, even trying to limit the damage a damning indictment like this can have on a Tory campaign.
