algy
I'm assured that this photo was taken in Warrington. I would say about 1947 to 1950, a typical pre Bonfire Night scene in the 'backs' between to rows of terraced houses, very much like where I was brought up as a youngster in Latchford. They were the times when 'kids' made there own fun, no computers to keep them in!. Pity about the little girl on the right only having one leg. harry hayes
They used tHE wooden one for the bonfire. A marvellous photo of 'happy days'. Well done Algy. Happy days
Tracey Bennett
The lad standing next to the one legged girl looks like a 60 year old with a child's body!
Cleopatra
She hasn't got one leg. She is holding her right leg up behind her back because she was a shy girl who didn't know what else to do.

Wireforever
Absolutely brilliant photo Algy. Reminds me of my own childhood playing with my cousins in Plumpton Street. Playing out all day long with not a care in the world.
Cleopatra
You should have lived in our street. Some grumpy people living there at the time. If us kids were playing in the wrong part of the street someone would come out of their house and tell us to 'get down your own end!' I loved being out without any shoes on my feet. Some neighbour or other would tell me, 'Oh Rosalind, put some shoes on your feet!' Like I was committing some sort of sin'

Cleopatra
Please, algy, I hated that name, especially when it was shortened to Rose.
