observer
A worm hole perhaps?
algy
A worm hole perhaps? I must be loosing the thread here, what has a worm hole to do with a viking ghost ship unless you mean it had wood or sea worm
observer
The theory is, that worm holes allow fast inter-space travel, and could be used for time travel. However, time travel itself has been called into question: if you went back in time and killed your father, would you exist to do it? algy
Blummin eck! obs, ( is that allowed under the new swearing rules?) you (I) learn something new every day.
Evil Sid
the fact that you exist means that even if you did go back in time you did not do it.(kill your father that is) you could ,however be your father i suppose  time travel is not impossible, merely improbable.unless you consider the fact that we are all travelling in time at the rate of at least one second per second all the time.  there are those that would say that there is no past or future just the present in which we all exist in one form or another.  at this point i end the post with a bad headache from trying to figure out if i still exist or not. P J
if time travel existed at any point in time we would have met them by now.
Mary
Cool, wish I had seen it.
observer
There is a time differential between someone traveling at light speed in space (time would be slower - I think?), so on return to Earth, the Astronaut would have aged less than his peers. It's all a bit complicated, which is why you should never ask Stephen Hawking the time!

observer
nice one Sid! Another useless track to go down - the Viking longboat could have appeared at the interface between us and a parallel universe?!
