algy
I think I may have cocked this one up perhaps it may have been Latchford Albion although as a lad I'm sure there was a local Walton soccer team.

Well Latchford Albion are still going strong and a search on google should reveal all.
Pedro
Your memoty serves you well Algy. Walton Albion played on Morley Common in the under 14s in Stockton Heath Youth League in the early 1950s. Local derby was with Walton Juniors in same league - Juniors were formed around same time as Albion and came about 'cos several local lads, self included, from the 'Higher' end of Walton were too young to play for Walton Wanderers in the higher age league. The Wanderers were formed during or just after WW11 and may have been one of the first 'sponsered' sides - Francis Lady Daresbury paid for the kit - no advertising but her Griffiths family colours of black and gold (much same as Wolverhamton Wanderers old jerseys). Original ground was where the Travellers now are in the village, later a field on Grange Green Farm and in the 1950s another farm field off Rincorn Road towards Moore. All these teams faded out in the late 50s as players became seniors and most went into National Service.
