Sue Durnim
I heard a radio presenter (James Whale?) talk of people in prison, that criminals should be placed on rowing or cycling machines that are plugged into the national grid and used as a dynamo to power hospitals, prisons. schools etc and that way they are keeping fit and paying there debt to society and keeping out of trouble because they will be too knackered to do anything else. observer
Sounds good in theory Sue, but I'd be interested in the practicality of it - how much power would one cycle contibute to the grid X 80,000 prisoners? And would it pass the Human Rights test?!
