I didn't suggest confronting them, but help the police by providing information to do the job legally. They cannot operate using a crystal ball alone.

In the communities that I have involvement with, this approach is working well.

Ok, I should have been a bit clearer.(I see them all as the same).

The PCSO's are doing what the bobbies of yesteryear did. they walk the beat, and learn who the naughties are and deal with them. they also encourage a lot of activities for the youngsters. In fact they do far more for the young than the youth service do.
