Mary
Its winter in Minnesota and the gentle breezes blow Seventy miles an hour at twenty-five below. Oh, how I love Minnesota when the snow's up to your butt; you take a breath of winter and your nose gets frozen shut. Yes, the weather here is wonderful, so I guess I'll hang around. I could never leave Minnesota 'Cause I'm frozen to the ground! And its all true! Man I do not miss Winter in Minnesota!
Peter T
Nice one Mary. Who would have thought? From cold and ice to weather, that is always nice.
safeway56
Skiing in Minnesota or being eaten alive by the Florida mosquitos. Hard choice to make.

Peter T
Wolfie. This is poet's corner, not a thread for snide comments.
wolfie
Peter, It wasn't a snide comment it was a comment that is well known in Florida for the peculiar voting in elections. People in Florida would know exactly what I mean, obviously you don't. It was no more snide than eaten alive by the Florida mosquitos
Peter T
I know perfectly well what you meant. I just thought that it was a tad disrespectful to the thread writer who had given us a poem. I also thought that the mosquito reference was still slightly in topic.
wolfie
No disrespect meant. However what is the point of posting a poem if comments on it are not welcome. It defeats the object of a forum Now if it was a poem about Liverpool it would be a different matter
Mary
Actually - because I live near the gulf coast - very few flying insects at all!! By the way Minnesota is the capitol of mosquito's in the summer!!! So not offended or anything. The poem was from a friend thats still in MN and is already very sick of winter! Peter T
Now if it was a poem about Liverpool it would be a different matter As long as it's not the one about a scouse who became a louse, it might be ok.
Jerry
I have a lifelong friend in Florida, and I'm going to use the term "electile dysfunction" and see if he gets it! And I didn't know Mary had returned to the Great White North, but south of the boundary line.
