timpri
How about organising some friendlies against the teams we played in are very first season, and mybe re-inact some of the freat games from the past (i.e st Helens - fa vase, sutton - fa trophy and an fa cup one). lets keep thinking
Pieman
Lets have a parade of yellows greats at some games, Sir Roger, was it Jim Weir who went on to play for Scotland and Hibbees, didn't the playright Alan Bennett play some games for our reserves as a kid, Dave Gleave, Steve Hughes, Eric Shaw, Joey Dunn, Neil Cook etc, this would create some interest from old time fans and maybe tempt one or two of em back down to watch us, therefore giving us a higher attendance and more gate money. Afterall it was Warrington & District League Div 2. Ariel 4-3 7-2 British Aluminium (Latchford) 5-0 5-2 British Aluminium (Warrington) 5-3 3-3 Earlestown Victoria n/k 5-0 Fairfield 1-4 1-2 Harbens Recreation 4-1 6-2 Lancashire Steel 10-1 6-0 Risley n/k 3-2 Rylands n/k 3-3 Still going of sorts as a merged with Crosfields outfit S. S. Mary & John 2-2 1-5 Statham n/k 0-1 Thelwall 1-2 2-1 Cup matches Cheshire Amateur Cup 1 Old Altrinchamians (H) definitely still going in Manchester League 3-2 Cheshire Amateur Cup 2 Linotype (A) Still exist as a merged club with Cheadle Heath Nomads 4-4 Cheshire Amateur Cup 2 R Linotype (H) Lost - result n/k Depot Cup 1 Golborne (A) Still exist 2-4 Guardian Cup 1 Golborne (A) 0-4 Head Cup 1 D. O. Rangers (H) 5-0 Head Cup 2 British Aluminium (Latchford) 0-3 So clubs at least in part still in existence as far as I know. W & D Leaguye could still provide 1 or 2 others?
