A half-time score of 14-0 to the Wire looked like it was a walk in the park. Second half and Wakefield showed they had other ideas, scoring a couple of quick tries and proving to be tricky customers. At the end of a nail biting 40 minutes Wire came out on top 23-16 but it wasn't pretty!

I once refereed a friendly match some years ago now.

And I tell you now ,I wouldn't have their jobs for a gold clock.

They are not perfect;but just watch on sky all the antics the players of both sides get up to.

Plus they have to keep track of tackle counts and remember all the new rule changes.

Then put up with abuse from fans

Plus be scrutinized by sky commentators who can watch incidents over and over in slow motion then give withering comments on the ref's errors.
