asperity
Wire came away winners of a close fought 6th round Coral Challenge Cup game at the Halliwell Jones, against Wigan Warriers, by 26 points to 24. Wigan haven't been faring very well in the league up until now, but they certainly upped their game for this one. The sides were level on 24 points each with 15 minutes to go but a penalty to the Wire, scored by Stefan Ratchford, gave them the edge at the final whistle. Unusually for a game against Wigan the crowd was a disappointing 7000 ish. Possibly people preferred to sit at home listening to or watching the final games of the Premier League football season, or watching the match on TV. Wirewire
Very tense affair but all that matters is we're into the next round. Having said that though - always good to knock out Wigan!!
Gary
Cant believe only 7,000 turned up for such an important match between two of the biggest rivals in the sport! 2,200 turned out for a non league football promotion play off the day before!
Wirewire
I know - wouldn't have looked good for the TV audience either......
asperity
I can't see the crowd for the quarter final being any better - 7.35 on a Friday evening in Hull. Thanks for nothing Sky.

That must have been close to a full house for Town then Gary?
