Gary
I wonder if she made any private visits which were not covered by the press? http://www.warrington-worldwide.co.uk/2015/09/09/queen-elizabeths-four-visits-to-warrington-as-longest-serving-monarch/
Dizzy
She probably stopped off at mine for a quick brew last time she came but sadly I missed her as I was out from first thing putting our flags and bunting up near town
Dizzy
Here's a photo of Queen Eliz and the Mayor Clr Harold Edwards during her 1979 visit to the Golden Square to unveil the commemorative plaque. I have a better photo somewhere which I'll try and find.Is the plaque still there as I don't ever remember seeing one anywhere in there. wolfie
I remember her first flying visit in 1968. Part of her 'Operation Springclean' tour. I can still see her marigold gloves when she waived from the car window.
