observer
Seems parents gave their 8 year old the computer password, then were surprised that he ran up a £1700 bill on a game! Then on You Tube, two Russians released a vidio of their 8 year old daughter driving their car at 100mph! Could this be classed as "responsible parenting"? Lt Kije
£1700 bill was run up on an iPad Baz, where you are signed up in iTunes, easy for a child to buy a game, just wondered if he new actually how easily it can be done.
Cleopatra
His stupis dad's fault for keying in the password then leaving him to it without any supervision.
asperity
I don't see where "parenting classes" would come into it really. People need to accept the consequences of their own actions, it isn't up to society as a whole to do that for them. This is one of the reasons why our society is breaking down, people under the impression that whatever they, and their offspring, do its not their fault and someone else should do something to sort it out. So, Obs, do you think that society in general should insure others against their own stupidity?

observer
Coincidentally, it seems one of Dave's top advisers on social policy, is pushing the idea of parenting skills training - perhaps scrapping child benefit may cure it?!
