michaelorg Posted August 9, 2012 Report Share Posted August 9, 2012 St. Mary's choir is open to all boys and girls from age 6. Currently there are about 20 members. Rehearsals are on Thursdays at 6.30pm - 7.30pm, and the choir often sing on Sunday at 11am High Mass at St. Mary's. Choir club opens at 6pm on Thursdays, where the children can come and play games, inside or out, before rehearsals, and during the break. While it is a Church choir, there is no requirement to be a Catholic, or to attend Church (apart from when the choir are singing!) and the choir often partake in other events: recently they have sung at St. Chad's Cathedral in Birmingham, a concert with Manchester Philharmonic, and a concert in Walton Gardens, and are also sometimes asked to sing at Weddings around Warrington, (for which a small fee is paid to each member) There is no audition for the choir, and no previous experience is necessary. All that is required is an ability to work hard - and play hard when required!
