Gary
As the UK faces a housing crisis, property prices fall and the market crashes an exciting new Channel 4 series sees a team of qualified builders and an interior designer attempt to add £15,000 to the value of your home in only 3 days and with a budget of just £3,000. A team of estate agents will survey the house before and after and if they decide the value hasn't increased by £15,000 then the team don't get paid! They are looking for people nationwide to take part in this makeover series with homes that are in desperate need of some TLC. Does your home look tired and dated? Is your kitchen old and your bathroom avocado? Do your building projects never get done? Presenters, Simon O'Brien (BBC1's To Buy, Or Not to Buy) and Jonnie Irwin (C4's A Place in the Sun) keep a watchful eye over the teams as they go about their challenge. If you think you deserve our help and want a free makeover for your house then give us a call or send us an email. inky pete
Wouldn't touch them with a barge-pole - and certainly wouldn't let them ANYWHERE near my house! I would have to VERY strongly advise anyone else to give this mob a wide berth too. I've seen some of the last series and if you watch closely what they're actually doing you'll see that the amount of bodging, lack of basic prep work, slap-dash finishing, corner cutting, and downright dangerous practices they indulge in would make even the most hardened cowboy builder blush! They do it deliberately in order to meet their artificial 3 day deadline. Think about it - it takes a full day for an undercoat paint to dry and then a day each for two coats of gloss to dry - so you can never acheive more in 3 days than just a quick re-coat of the woodwork. These guys are knocking walls through, fitting kitchens or bathrooms, re-plastering, then re-decorating - and reckon they've done it properly and made it all good in 3 days!!!!!! 3 months later the finish will have all fallen off and the poor people will be left with a house which looks a complete wreck! And these are the same sort of TV companies who keep churning out programme about rogue traders!
