Brendam.
Just for a change, I thought you may like to try making an apple pie without pastry! To say it's "different" is to say the least! 275g of peeled, cored and sliced apples 1 tspn ground cinnamon 1 tspn caster sugar 200g caster sugar 170g melted marge 60g chopped pecans 125g plain flour 1 egg lightly beaten 1 pinch salt. Preheat oven to 180c or gas 4 Lightly grease 23cm pie dish with marge Fill 2/3 dish with apple slices Sprinkle on cinnamon and 1 tspn sugar In a med bowl, mix 200g sugar with melted marge. Mix well. Spread evenly over apples. Bake in preheated oven for 65 mins or until golden brown. This "apple pie" is fantastic served with hot creamy custard, cream, fromage frais, etc. I use Granny Smiths apples as I think they're easily the best for this pie. Enjoy!
