observer
Following a golden age for pensioners, in which real earnings rose by 47%; a new report suggests that new pensioners (from 2020) will face a bleak dawn. It appears around 13 million workers (mainly in the private sector) simply havn't made sufficient provision for their old age. Will the State pick up the bill or will our streets be lined with old folk with begging bowls?

algy
" It's the rich who get the pleasure, and the poor who get the pain; they won't share their treasure, ain't it all a *****ing shame". Â It's the same the whole world over, It's the poor wot gets the blame, It's the rich wot gets the gravy. Ain't it all a bleedin' shame? Â Chorus of the song "She was Poor but she was Honest", popular among British Army soldiers during the First World War.
