Two old photos of Wilderspool & Stockton Heath, amazing how the fields encroached on the south of the village.

Lovely old pics Algy not seen those before. You are right about all the fields Must be early 1900's eh

 

On the second one have you any idea what the large white looking building sat on it's own on the top left of the picture is/was ?

When did the houses/buildings on the corner of Morrisons carpark and the bridge, get demolished and why?

 

The Tory office on the corner of Stafford Rd must have been added on.

The houses are still there on the 1970's aerial view Peter (shown of Victorian mapping site)

That would more than likely have been the Mill House in Mill Lane Dizz.

Of course.. never thought of that

 

I presume the Mill House itself must have been demolished quite early on but the 'Mill Cottages' remained for quite some years as they can be seen on all the old photos of the 'lake/open air baths' on Mill Lane playing field as it is now called.

 

Or maybe not.... as I don't know the dates of the lake photos photos and it's getting late
