observer
Seems the Government are planning to entertain online petitions on a web site; and IF a petition gets enough support, it will be given a slot for Parliamentary debate. BUT will those turkeys vote for Christmas?!

observer
So what would be your number one priority for a petition folks?

observer
It supposed to be based on those petitions that get the most online support - so I guess immigration would be up there with hanging as the peoples favourite - which guarantees that the political class would just ignore it. Lt Kije
Immigration will be on the list, but it will not be at the top
observer
No, just near the top!
Dizzy
233 past 'accepted' petitions on Numer 10's web all containing the word 'immigration'.. not many signatures though which suprised me 359 petitions on 'immigration' 'rejected' by number 10 and 0 current

Bazj
makes you wonder why the other 359 were censored/rejected though......
Lt Kije
Fair point Baz, Although it could have been the language they used in them.
observer
Errm, you don't believe for one second that the current political class will allow, never mind debate, a petition on immigration; as one half of them (like Kije) are toga wearing liberal benders, who want to save the world at our expense: the other half just want the cheap labour. Dizzy
Think you are right Obs as I had a brief look and can't see why some were rejected
Bazj
I had a petition rejected earlier in the year in which I called for MP's to be no longer called "honourable" or "right honourable" after they were all caught with their snouts in the trough and because of the way they had tried to block all of the revelations; they didn't deserve the title no explanation; just an email to say it wasn't an appropriate petition! Dizzy
Maybe you should have submitted another petition for "petitions not be rejected or accepted purely on the grounds that the 'receiver' doesn't like the content as it relates to 'them' " Must admit I have signed a few No 10 online ones in the past.. then months later the government (Gordie at the time) responded in the most nondescript and couldn't care less way. But having responded of course that was another box ticked. Wonder how many petitions, if any, have ever resulted in some form of action or changes being implemented (either online or not) My guess is NONE
Lt Kije
I think if they are going to reject a petition, they should give you reasons, or are their already rules for petitions that people might have missed, when putting one together.
