observer
Interesting prog about the way of life in ancient Rome - and the view we may have of slavery. Seems, a rich man's slave, like a Greek tutor or physician, could live a more affluent existence than an average Roman freeman. Guess it proves that life is a matter of luck - bad luck, if you live next to a volcano though!
Evil Sid
could be good luck as you save a bomb on heating costs
Teessidewire
If any of you ever get the opportunity to visit either Pompei or Herculaneum, then a visit to the Archeological Museum at Naples is a 'must' as a follow up. Even more interesting is a visit to the 'Special area' within the Museum, this part is basically an artistic porn show from 2000 years ago. observer
Noted if I visit again. When I was last in Rome, I tried to find the centre where they have a virtual reality experience of actually walking round the City as it used to be - alas, couldn't find the place.
