The only reason we are in Afghanistan, is because poodle Bliar followed Bush's posse, who went in chasing Bin Laden and Al Queda; then got into a fight with the Taliban. Plus, a cynic might add, that the area is rich in minerals and would form a convenient route for an oil pipe line from S/Russia to the Gulf. Al Queda has now flown the nest, to Pakistan, Somalia, the Yemen and umpteen other places - so, do we invade them all? Meanwhile, the ordinary Afghan, aside from being accidently bombed by NATO, has to decide which horse to put his money on. Now, what is not in doubt, is that NATO WILL eventually withdraw, leaving a corrupt Karsai Government and a suspect Army behind - the Taliban will be there for generations, cos that's where they live - SO, who would you be putting your money on?
