observer
According to a Panorama Prog: some Councils are auctioning elderly care provision to the "lowest" bidder; thus ensuring low standards and systematic neglect - is this what we want? Steve the Original
Since when does what we want taken into consideration?? I saw the prog as well and its disgusting.. thankfully we have a slightly better system in that the careworkers are checked and if they dont do their job then they and their employers are for the high jump and yes they are under stress becasue they also have limited time for patients and their care.. Bill
I think to some extent that?s the way it?s always been done but seeing it done on telly in what looked like a reverse Ebay auction can only serve to push standards even further down. Still, you have to spare a thought for the many dedicated care workers that are good at what they do because the program cast a huge shadow of doubt over them. Steve the Original
Bill Your quite right we do tend to forget those who are dedcated to their job and they do a grand job, its not a job that i could do and those who do it deserve a lot of respect and gratitude..
