Peter T
We seem to have a lot of activity on Development sites. The old Polar Ford site on Knutsford Road (now belonging to the Co-op, I believe), is being cleared. The old Timber Yard on Station Road has had all the brick buildings demolished today. is work going to start on these sites?
Dizzy
Activity on the Walton Locks site in the last two weeks too (not the main site but the little peninsula where the 'affordable homes' are going). They have gone now though Maybe as a developer who has already bought some land and got planning permission it is the right time to build. Maybe they are cutting their losses especially as they can probably build houses cheaper at the moment and palm them off under the more 'affordable' price tag
McBain
NO the credit crunch is not over. The remaining developers still with access to funding are likely to be making technical starts on lots of sites in order to preserve indefinitely the planning permission. They can then be safely mothballed until conditions improve.
Peter T
Thanks for that McBain. PS. Thanks Dismayed, I forgot to mention the old concrete site down Greenalls road.
