As a car enthusiast, I’ve always said that you know when you’re getting old when a Nissan Micra starts to look like a cool car. 😊

Well, it looks like I’ve finally reached that point so now both of my Italian cars are up for sale and being replaced by a more economic and sensible little Toyota hybrid run-around. I decided against going full electric, but I’d like to think I’m still doing my bit for the environment with ultra-low emissions, while at the same time, 80 mpg should save me some dosh.

The idea of touring around Europe with the wife when I retired just didn’t happen and the furthest we ever got was somewhere near Newcastle. Since then, what with covid and bits of my body going wonky, trips out are mainly the weekly shop and a couple of trips for a social beer. A bit of a comedown from what I’ve been used to but what the heck, it’ll get me there just as quick and hopefully no long journeys to get mega expensive repairs.
