The Budget ?

Observer II

Recommended Posts

Listening to TV debates on the pros and cons of "the budget",  it's apparent to me why the Nation is now in a downward spiral, economically and socially.  The politicians backed by so-called experts, chirp on over their various self serving mantras, without any consideration of the overall and fundemental objectives.  It's clear, that those who fail to plan, plan to fail.  As I've said many times, planning is alien to our political system, simply because the kind of fundemental initiatives required may take decades to realise and our Governments have only a five year horizon, so with each change of Government, comes a change in priorities.   The right argue for reduced immigration which then calls for initiatives to resolve labour shortages, while the left argue for open doors policies, which provide cheap labour but also adds to overall demand for housing and public services; whilst undercutting wage levels amongst the proles.  This will no doubt get worse after the next election as we move to a hung parliament and return to the political chaos of pre-2019.   It's an age old truth, that a ship that knows not to which port it sails, no wind is favourable.
